[That's blunter than what they wanted to say, but the truth slips out before they can stop it.]
I doubt you'll need to worry about it. There's a couple of bars here, but you can just avoid them if you don't want to deal with drunks in general.

[letting that bad idea comment pass...]

If you don't think it'd work out, there's gotta be other jobs around here you can do.
no subject
I don't really know. I don't think I'd be any good at any job.
no subject
That's what on-the-job training is for. If there's anything at all that appeals to you, you can give it a shot and learn as you go.
no subject
I dunno. "Appeals"... There's nothing I can do besides fight. And I'd never be able to get along with anyone else who works with me. I already know that much about myself.
no subject
Hmm... you might have to think on it some more, but there's gotta be something. It's possible to get along here without the extra coin, but having the gold on hand when you need it is way better.
no subject
... I doubt it. If I need something, I can steal it. That's how I've lived until now. I already know I'm never going to be able to fit in and follow the rules of society.
no subject
So you're not even gonna try?... It just seems like it's more trouble than it's worth. You get people mad at you, and it takes more effort to get what you need.

There's no way someone like me can become a "productive", "normal member of society".
[the venom dripping from those words is palpable.]
Everyone except Rin abandoned me when they found out about me, after all.

I don't know what you're worried about, but there's a lot of different Chosen here. Not just different worlds, but it includes the far past and the far future. I couldn't walk around looking like I do back home, but here, almost no one cares. There's even a few other people who are about as strange as I am.
So... at least give us a shot before writing us all off, maybe?

You really think people would accept me here? Even if they find out I used to be a boy?
no subject
Yeah, I think they would.
I mean, I'm not really either one, and no one's questioned it. Whether you choose to tell anyone is your decision, but I think it would go over just fine. The sheer variety of Chosen here means that everyone's pretty accepting, y'know?
no subject
You're not?

I was born a vaguely baby-shaped lump of goo. But my parents had been expecting a boy, so they encouraged me to look like a regular human boy growing up. And I just kept doing that for a really long time.
It wasn't until after I went through some pretty bad personal stuff that I realized that the face I was wearing not only didn't fit me anymore, it maybe had never really fit me in the first place. Luckily my team was fine with it when I started using my 'natural' face at home, even if I still had to use the old one when I go out in public.
I don't mind if people still refer to me as a guy, since I use masculine forms a lot. But that's not the whole truth of who I am.

[She's just sort of. Slumping. Relaxing a little. Like tension she'd been carrying her whole life just got all cut out from her at once.
Morph's similar to Rin. They're like her.]
And you're... not scared to be that way here?
no subject
But hey, I wore something girly to Obon, and though I surprised someone no one was really bothered by it.
no subject
[What else can she even say about that? She's just... impressed. Confused. Envious. She's not brave- She just does the only things she knows how to do. But Morph? Morph knows the risks and is doing it anyway.
That's braver than she could ever be... Truth be told, she's jealous.]
... All right, you win.

As long as you're willing to give the Chosen a chance, then I'm happy. If you decide we're no good, it can at least be on our own merits.
