What does your char's room/living space look like?
It is said that one can tell a lot about a person based on their living spaces (citation needed). Is their room super neat? Messy? Do they decorate their walls? Is there something they really like about their room? Do they have a lot of things in it to spruce up the place? Or maybe not? Why? Or why not? Tell me us all about it!
It looks even smaller in person because she's a lowkey hoarder and has a load of electronics and supplies for gadget making. It's all organised but there's a lot. Especially with her books and clock repair things from the AU event. She basically comes here to sleep and work on her gadget at a desk. She only makes the most basic food, but has like five different types of coffee. Most of her food storage in that little kitchen is coffee.
Also she loves the loft bed. It makes her feel tall, no one must know.
well, mikey lives in the sano dojo, because i got it as a reward. it's his whole ass house, pretty damn big. it's got 4 rooms, and the shed outside that used to be mikey's room, apparently all the rooms are upstairs, while there's a bath downstairs.
as seen by his room, mikey is extremely tidy and keeps things very, very organized. something something grandson of dojo master something something discipline something something

Ok maybe I should have included a "where does your char even live" aspect of it but WHATEVER I'm sure people will add that anyways...
Minato decided to stay at the inn even after the Aldrip setting changes. He didn't really mind staying at the inn, and there hasn't been any particular reason for him to choose someplace else. Apparently having to pay rent instead of getting his own place isn't a dealbreaker for Minato??
There's the basic furniture re: a bed, nightstand, dresser, and a desk with a chair. He's pretty good about making his bed each morning so the blanket's kept neat. There are traces of Koromaru's fur on it, especially towards the bottom where he curls up to sleep each night. The nightstand is empty, but that's where his music player and headphones go every night before he crawls into bed.
If you open the dresser, you'll find Minato's Gekkoukan uniforms folded in one of its drawers. In another one there are idk. Two other outfits, because he never got around to getting more clothes for himself. He probably still walks around often in his uniform. It's ok.
His desk has the most personalization out of everything in his room. He keeps a polaroid camera on there, a gift from Mikey. There's a large journal on it too since he's started scrapbooking, collecting little things to put in it from the people he knows just in case any of them disappear. The idea came to him after he learned about Kotone's fears of being forgotten, so he figures if he puts this book together there will be Something that proves people were once there. The desk also has lying on it a couple of photo strips from a photo booth he visited with Sha-Ming.
Other than the desk, he doesn't really have anything "decorating" his room. The walls are bare, and he seems to intentionally avoid getting things for the room. It's an old habit due to having to move around so much, and also because he doesn't really feel compelled to add his own touches or flair to the room. [insert Minato's "I don't have a sense of self and I am whatever everyone else needs me to be" spiel]
If he does end up getting more things for his room, they'll likely be items others have given to him. He'll hang onto even the most random of things if it was gifted to him. He's sentimental like that. If you give him something he will not throw it out. Incidentally, this is how he ended up with a baseball bat wrapped in wire fencing after it was offered to him. It sits in the corner of his room. Don't worry about it thanks mikey
There's another box off to the side of the room that holds an assortment of Koromaru's things. Best boy's brush is in there along with a couple of toys and the hoodie Akechi got for him. Nearby is a little placemat with his food and water bowl. Both are made of metal, very sturdy.
There's also a closet with extra blankets, pillows, and a spare futon mattress in it too, just in case someone happens to want to sleep over. Best to be prepared just in case!
How tf did this get so long after I thought to myself "I don't think Minato really has much in his room" but ok. I guess he does. Whatever man...
SO TRUE... though like I said before, the fact that they will hoard whatever others give them... That probably speaks volumes about their personalities...
OH THIS IS FUN. Yu formerly lived in the dojo with Mikey and Yosuke, but has since moved back into the house he and Yosuke shared before all of that. It's one of those little 1-bedroom places with a little kitchen and living/dining room and stuff. I don't have pictures! But there's a couch (Yu was sleeping on it for the first few weeks they were in the game - until Yosuke put in a request for an extra bed LMAO)
Yu keeps his part of the bedroom area fairly tidy; laundry put away neatly, stuff organized, etc. All bets are off for Yosuke's stuff!
The kitchen is well-stocked at this point, with plenty of useful cooking tools. This is also a place that Yu keeps pretty tidy, and he tends to be meticulous about cleaning up after he's done cooking.
There's not a ton of stuff in the living room: a couch and table, a dining area with a table and chairs. After moving in, Yu eventually acquired a bookshelf for the...piles of books he was starting to acquire... He also has a couple of garage kits on shelves, as well as various gifts/mementos/etc given to him by other people. He keeps a jar full of origami cranes on the table, too, and there's a golf club by the doorway, iykyk
Oh, and due to. mysterious circumstances. a back window of the house is broken and missing the glass.
Peter and Gwen made the decision to room together because spidey-people are forever broke bitches. Anyway, it's a tiny one bed one bath house. Currently equipped with bunkbeds and a privacy curtain around it, a thrifted couch and TV, old ass movie player (VHS??) that Peter found and repaired, and a stack of horrible rip off movies. The small kitchen area is pretty bare except for essentials (they eat a lot of sandwiches okay), and has a small table just big enough for two chairs tucked in the corner. The main clutter is just their nerdy shit, aka, things they've dragged home from STEM, books, and of course, their spider suits and gear that get thrown about. At least one window is typically left unlocked/open, so they can swing in and out easier, because who needs door when you can crawl on walls??
What I'm getting from this is they essentially live in the average NYC apartment....... Also true if I was a spider person I would also be crawling on walls instead of using doors
LMAO BASICALLY can't take the new yorker out of them apparently!! but yeah they spend a dumb amount of time on walls and the ceiling BECAUSE WHY NOT it's cool!!
kakashi lives in a house toph built him. i imagine it as pretty spartan, just a one bedroom deal. living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom. the living room has a couch, the bedroom has a simple bed......he lives a simple life ok. he has a tub in the bathroom but he still goes to the hot springs anyway. he keeps his bed made but it does occasionally have dog hair on it from rusty, who of course sleeps in his bed. other than that he keeps the place fastidiously clean. everything in its place, etc. the kitchen has the basic necessities, he cooks rice and vegetables for himself most of the time. there is a single small potted plant in the kitchen window, just to make the place feel a little like home. he keeps his equipment and clothes in the bedroom closet.
as for the dog house, it is simply full of dog beds. there are no separators of any kind, just....rows of dog beds lmao. and bowls for food and water, and dog toys scattered everywhere. he tries to keep it neat but of course the dogs just drag everything out again as soon as he's done cleaning.
Shinjiro, Mitsuru, and Akihiko have a place in the city, close to the Casino! It's a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom type dealie, and they just got it last month.
We haven't super discussed what it's like because of vacations schedules and lacking internet last month lol, so I will just talk about Shinjiro's space!
Shinjiro finally has his own bed. That's right, for the first time in expiation, he finally isn't sleeping on a couch or a weird pile of blankets on the floor!!! Amazing. It's like he's a functional human being and not a dog.
Annnnd.... that's about it. He's not a very material guy, and he's well aware of the transience of this existence, so there's very little in terms of decorations. There's a desk with nothing on it, mostly serving as a place to dump his evoker, wallet, keys, whatever when he gets home. An empty nightstand. He keeps his room fairly neat- clothes put away, even if he doesn't make the bed every day or anything. He does have a lot of blankets and quilts, though with the weather warming ups he needs less of them. Axes are tucked in a corner and leaned against the wall- one is your standard gogol-killing battle axe, the other is tastelessly bedazzled with glowing stones by Toph, to make a weapon to fight the corruption monster from the beginning of the year. Tbh, the lack of personalization is probably a little depressing. There's very little personality to it, as though he's used to taking up as little space as possible.
That said! Anything that's been given to him, he treats carefully. The scarf from Kotone is tucked on a hook behind the door for when it gets cold again, for example.
He keeps the kitchen more interesting and stocked than his room. He has a system of organization there, and trusts Akihiko and Mitsuru not to mess it up too badly, LMAO. Knives are kept carefully and treated well- honing before each use, stored safely, pans and pots all in their places, spices sorted in a cabinet, et cetera. The donabe that Yu gave him for Christmas lives on the top of the stove when it's not in use, because it's nice and looks nice.
TL;DR: organized and boring!! He doesn't have a lot, but takes meticulous care of the things he does have. Give him bullshit and maybe he'll decorate his room with it, idk.
Claude here lives in a flat above the Apothecary that he runs! The Apothecary itself is cluttered but well-organized, with a large pen out back for his wyvern, where he arguably spends more time than he does inside.
Aesthetically, I imagine his home as being similar to Chief Hong's home in Hometown Cha Cha Cha -- very simple, with warm woods and absolutely cluttered from top to bottom with stuff. He hasn't taken to modern technology in his own private space too well, and everything is quite rustic, old-fashioned, and meant for his eyes only. The living room and the kitchen are together with no delineation between the two, and considering Claude's inability to cook, the cupboards are filled with only the most basic staples and seasonings -- lots of tea, coffee, oats, yogurt, rice, etc., the sorts of things that take almost no skill to put together.
The predominant feature of his home is the fact that there are books absolutely everywhere. They're largely non-fiction, largely dry, and largely extremely well-loved, with at least two or three books open at a time. The spines are cracked, white space scribbled on, the pages dog-eared, it's a whole mess. The kitchen table is often not used for eating at all, instead populated by his enormous mortar and pestle and other tools as he experiments with making his different concoctions (largely poisons that he keeps out of the Apothecary proper), with different things being pickled, preserved, dried, or otherwise experimented with, and plenty of half-burned candles pooled in wax along the shelves. There's also quite a few board games, with a game of go and a game of chess both laying out on the tables, which he appears to be playing against himself. There's the occasional trinket lying around that clearly caught his fancy, but all of the clutter is largely functional. He also has a small speaker set-up for what appears to be an incredibly eclectic taste in music.
If you open up his closet in the poky entranceway, you'll see that because he doesn't have guests over, instead of being reserved for his guests' coats and shoes, is reserved for a large assortment of well-maintained weaponry and armour, with all the maintenance tools that you'd expect.
Once you venture into his bedroom (equally as filled with books, equally as messy with a perpetually unmade bed), there's one clean area in the home, directly in front of a small window overlooking the wyvern pen. There, there's an incense holder and a prayer mat that he uses for his private morning meditations. He hasn't received a great many gifts, but whatever he has received will be proudly displayed on the shelves lining his home. His closet and bathing areas are both relatively clean and tidy, his clothing ranging from fancy dress to the plainclothes he goes stomping out in the forest in, and his bathing area filled with an assortment of fancy soaps, colognes, hair care, and an old-fashioned shaving kit complete with straight razor.
