This world seemed to work on inconsistent rules, and her explanation did little to help make sense of it.]

It’s strange. I feel like I should be in a state of panic over finding myself in an alien world. Yet the whole thing is surreal to the point where bewilderment staves off all other things. It makes me appreciate how you chose to approach a stranger like me despite being in a similar situation.
