[Silco always had the goal of Zaun, but he had come to understand that such a goal was pointless if it would lose him the only family he had. When he thought about it, he could actually sympathize with Vander and the choices made towards the children. Did he ever think that it would be him in such a position? No. Yet, he and Vander had danced around the same ideas for much of their lives, never quite in step.
So if there was no Zaun, there was Jinx. He'd come to terms with that after reading what Zaun would cost, and even back then (which remained recent in his mind), it wasn't a difficult decision. In fact, it was downright easy for him.
His one regret was not going to find Jinx immediately after the treatments with the doctor, not that she would be found if she didn't want to be. Still, the act of searching would put him out there for her, to be more upfront of how much he cared. She wasn't alone.
